Find The Difference
More games to play
Find the Difference is a spot-the-difference puzzle game where you compare two nearly identical images and tap or click every discrepancy you notice. There are 10 differences hidden in each scene, and you move to the next image once you clear the current one. It is free to play in the browser with no download needed, so you can pick it up at school, at work, or anywhere a browser is available.
What Find the Difference asks you to do
Each round presents a pair of side-by-side pictures that look almost the same. Something has been added, removed, recolored, or shifted in one of them. Your job is to find all 10 of those changes before moving on. There is no countdown clock, so you can take as long as you need. The game is developed by PEKA and was released on Android and iOS in May 2023, followed by the browser version in July 2023.
Controls for spotting differences
The controls are minimal. Click a spot you think is different and the game confirms or ignores it. Scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in when details are hard to see at full size.
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Select a difference | Left mouse button click |
| Zoom in or out | Mouse scroll wheel |
| Use a hint | Hint button (limited uses) |
Hints and how to use them wisely
When you are stuck on a difference you cannot locate, a hint button highlights one of the remaining spots for you. Hints are limited, so treating them as a last resort rather than a first move makes the game last longer and feels more satisfying. Zoom in on areas that have a lot of detail first, since those are where small color or shape changes tend to hide.
| Situation | Suggested approach |
|---|---|
| Cannot find the last 1 or 2 differences | Zoom in on corners and background details |
| Image has dense patterns or text | Scan left to right in horizontal strips |
| All else fails | Use a hint to reveal one location |
Tips for clearing each image faster
- Start from the edges and work inward. Differences near the border are often overlooked.
- Zoom out first to get a general feel, then zoom in on areas that look slightly off.
- Pay attention to colors and shadows, not just shapes. A slightly different shade counts as a difference.
- Do not click randomly. Wrong clicks do not penalize you, but they add noise and slow your focus.
- Save hints for differences you have already scanned multiple times without success.
Playing on mobile
Find the Difference has a dedicated app on Google Play and the App Store if you prefer playing on a phone or tablet. The browser version also works on mobile. Tap where you see a difference instead of clicking. The zoom function is available via pinch-to-zoom on touch screens.
